About PILnet
PILnet is an international, locally present non-governmental organization (NGO) that partners with legal professionals and civil society organizations (CSOs) globally to protect civic space, address global challenges, and work to build just, equitable, and sustainable societies. PILnet does this by supporting civil society, engaging legal professionals, and nurturing the next generation of legal professionals in three strategic priority areas: civic space, climate justice, and refugees and people on the move. PILnet currently has offices in New York, Budapest, and Hong Kong, but operates globally.
Description of duties
Project: Assistance with the MARIO project of PILnet supporting capacity building and legal support of minority CSOs.
- Assistance with the legal aid component: research on pro bono practitioners in targeted Central European countries
- Assistance with drafting legal matters and organizing online calls
- Administer pro bono cases in database
- Outreach and correspondence with partners
Knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for an applicant:
- Professional-level English skills, any of the following languages is a plus: Hungarian, Romanian, Estonian, Slovenian, Czech
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Field of Study: Law, International Relations
- No work experience necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
