The jobholder will:

  • Be responsible for overall operations of WWF Hungary, including particularly financial and administrative management, human resources, risk management, governance and legal compliance;
  • Do the strategic and annual planning regarding operations, business planning and risk management;
  • Contribute to fundraising particularly with regard to ensuring effective budgeting, including co-finance and cost recovery;
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance with all financial, administrative and HR WWF standards and policies as well as local statutory regulations;
  • Ensure the compliance with legal organisational requirements, and organise the board and supervisory board meetings;
  • Ensure appropriate cash flow management;
  • Supervise accounting;
  • Be responsible for financial reporting (statutory, WWF internal and according to donor requirements);
  • Direct the preparation of audit schedules, and develop response and plan for implementing auditing recommendations;
  • Coordinate with the CEO to establish bank accounts and authorised signatories; take the lead in maintaining relations with banks on all financial matters;
  • Ensure tax declarations as necessary according to national law;
  • Ensure close monitoring of overall costs, to ensure proper spending according to agreed contracts and budget;
  • Ensure the implementation of national legal and statutory requirements for employments and contracts;
  • Supervise all administrative matters and the day-to-day running and administration of WWF Hungary;
  • Ensure appropriate procurement operations, contractual agreements, services and other transactions necessary for the daily running;
  • Ensure the identification, monitoring and active management of significant risks that can impact WWF Hungary's operations;
  • Support the development of relevant skills among staff through coaching, mentoring and training, as relevant and appropriate.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Higher education – master's degree in the field of Accounting, Administration and Finance, Economics or related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience of working in complex and/or international organization
  • Proven track record of managing internal and external stakeholder relations to influence and drive change
  • Experience in creating strategies, work plans or performance monitoring systems
  • Experience working with or in non-governmental organization
  • Experience in EU project management and reporting
